An Open Window
When God closes a door He opens a window. This saying was something many people said to me when I was going through a very difficult time in my life, grief. Thinking back to that autumn so long ago, I wondered what that open window would be? So much of that time was dark and dreary. I felt like I was in a tunnel deep underground, unable to see any light. That gloomy time lasted for what seemed like an eternity. It was a difficult time that almost suffocated and paralyzed me. Would I ever see light at the end of that difficult time?
For me the window was the rays of light that finally glimmered into my overcast life and brought peace and happiness to me. It was the little words of encouragement people sent me, friends that called, promises from the Bible and the happy memories I began writing about during my sleepless nights. Flashes of sunlight began to stream into my life providing glimmers of hope. God's torch began to flicker into my life taking away the blackness. This was the open window for me.
Has a door closed in your life? Are you in a time of gloominess and uncertainty right now? I can assure you that God will provide sparks of light and hope that will shine into your life just when you need it most. Hold onto God. Call out to Him. He is there with you even in your darkness and uncertainty. In His time you will find rays of sunshine and hope.
